Brief Assessment - SPM-2- £150

Sensory Processing Measure-2 (SPM-2) Assessment

The Sensory Processing Measure-2 (SPM-2) is a standardised occupational therapy assessment designed to evaluate how children and adults process sensory information in everyday life. It identifies difficulties in sensory processing, motor planning, and social participation across home, school, and community environments.

The assessment provides valuable insights to guide intervention strategies, support planning, and practical adjustments in daily routines. After completion, a detailed report is provided, which can be used to:

  • Recommend home and school adjustments

  • Support requests for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessment

  • Inform the need for a more in-depth sensory evaluation

Please note: The SPM-2 report does not provide EHCP provision in its standard format.

Occupational Therapy Assessment – Face-to-Face

Our face-to-face occupational therapy assessment includes a comprehensive evaluation to identify areas where support is needed. The process involves:

  • An initial consultation with parents or caregivers to understand specific areas of concern

  • Administration of appropriate standardised assessments to evaluate sensory processing, motor skills, and participation

  • Identification of strengths as well as challenges in daily functioning and participation

Following the assessment, a detailed report is provided. The report outlines the individual’s strengths and areas of difficulty and includes practical recommendations for support at home, school, and in the community.

Please note: The report is not written in EHCP format, but it can be used to support requests for further assessment or to highlight the need for an EHCP

  • Observations in home or school environments to understand how surroundings affect sensory integration and anxiety

  • Providing advice and education to schools or placements to support understanding of the child’s or person’s needs

  • Guidance on emotional regulation and sensory regulation strategies
